Our first objective was to identify the pain points in the background check industry. With the two of us having worked and utilized consumer reports in both public and private domains, across numerous industries in our careers, we had a great handle on how the industry currently operated. We boiled the problems down to the following (in no particular order):

Have I mentioned we are a paperless platform with embedded FCRA compliance? The sign-up process required zero paperwork. No credit or reference checks. We did ask for your permissible purpose….employment, right? Okay, you’re in the right place. During the order process, we asked for your new hire’s email address. Why? We email them an electronic application that requires them to review required local, state, and federal disclosure forms, fill out the minimum amount of PII required to complete the purchased products, over an at-rest, fully end-to-end encrypted connection, and digitally sign the consent and authorization forms. All required steps under local, state, and federal FCRA law. ✅
