ClearChecks is building an industry leading cloud-based HR onboarding platform.  We provide background screening, motor vehicle records, verifications of employment, education, and drug testing for small business to large enterprises.  We are mission driven to build the easiest self-serve solution for companies through our user friendly application UX or through our developer friendly API and low-code integrations.

We are disrupting the industry with our modern technology, streamlined workflow, automations, and integrations with 3rd party HR platforms (ATS, HCM, HRIS).

We are looking for a technical Support Engineer to work with our account managers, product team and developers to help diagnose problems, provide solutions, and quickly resolve customer issues.  If your ideal day consists of solving challenging problems, thinking about technology and architecture, learning about modern web applications and APIs, and working with a high caliber development team, we’d love to chat.

This is a great role for someone with some experience, but wanting to learn from the inside how to build complex web applications and software development cycles from the ground floor and grow knowledge and skills into a full-stack engineer.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work with our high caliber team to diagnose customer issues from account managers, track bugs, and understand related issues.

  • Test and write bug and feature requests and work with the development team to understand the problem and come up with solutions.

  • Illustrating your ideas through hands-on coding and work with senior developers to solve unique engineering challenges

  • Work with a team of developers, follow best practices, and scale with our agile and fast-paced development.

What we look for in you:

  • You have at least 1-2 years of experience in a developer role developing front and backend web apps.

  • You’re  familiar with modern framework architectures, can debug front end JavaScript issues.

  • You’re familiar with product and design lifecycles, and collaborating closely with designers, engineers, and product managers.

  • You demand high quality and know how to recreate issues and test features to debug root causes.

  • A bias for action and ability to maintain a fast paced environment

Nice to haves:

  • 4 year degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

  • Some front end skills in html, JavaScript (angular, react, vue) and CSS

  • Familiar with tools like BugSnag, FullStory, Sentry to debug issues

  • You have experience working with a LAMP stack with a PHP framework like Laravel, Symphony, or Zend.
